5. Audio Signal Processing Package
This laboratory looks at the process of quantisation, the conversion of continuous valued signals into ones that belong to a finite set, and in particular its application to audio signals. It is shown how the quantisation process results in the introduction of noise and how the properties of that noise can be adjusted using filters and feedback systems and takes into account the characteristics of human audio perception.
